Cannon Hall Farm

The Customer

Based in South Yorkshire, Cannon Hall Farm opened to the public in 1989, hosting children’s parties, school trips and seasonal events. Cannon Hall Farm is split into five separate areas: a large farm shop, The White Bull Restaurant, The Hungry Llama children’s play centre, a Gift Shop and Admissions centre. The farm has become one of Yorkshire’s most popular family attractions, aiming to provide customers with the perfect family day out.

To update their EPOS solutions, the farm enlisted the help of ICRTouch 2018 Gold Partner, 1Call4, a systems integrator and provider of ICRTouch software in the north of England.

The installation, involving 26 x TouchPoint terminals, was performed by 3 members of the 1Call4 service team, who configured 5 individual TouchPoint programs to use in the different areas of the farm.

The system was integrated with the following ICRTouch software: TouchOffice Web, a cloud-based back office solution, and TouchStock, a handheld stock control system. Customer-facing rear displays and scales were installed on the tills.

The Challenge

Cannon Hall Farm had several issues before ICRTouch software was installed:

  • They lacked a central reporting system for their estate, so the farm shop, admissions, White Bull, Hungry Llama and gift shop were spending a lot of their time running reports for each site. As well as this, programming changes could only be made locally and so a manager would have to visit each sales area to make any changes to prices, products or promotions.
  • With over 14,000 product lines, manual stock takes took a lot of time for staff to conduct, often taking several days.
  • There was no customer loyalty system in place to run various promotions for their regular customers and encourage repeat visits.
The Solution

1Call4 offered the following solution:

  • TouchOffice Web provided Cannon Hall Farm with a central reporting system for their farm, allowing them to manage their business easily, make programming changes, and identify sales trends across their entire estate, all from a single online account.
  • Handheld tablet devices with TouchStock were installed, enabling the staff to quickly scan items for stock takes and deliveries, speeding-up the farm’s slow stocktaking issues.
  • TouchPoint enabled them to add a loyalty program, which offered visitors gift cards and loyalty cards to use at any point of sale in the park.
