I have a new site where the kp is missing the items. Everything else is there just not the item.

Strange one but any ideas please?

Thank you

So they have a KP ticket with no items on it?

It could well be that if you've got something strange set in the translation config and "Do not print English" set to yes
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean neither more nor less.'

Also this was an existing KP on site- all I did was plug it in and setup the port and software

Plug it in how?
What printer is it?

(I too reckon it might be something to do with translation but,)

Is it even possible that it's set to print stuff in RED and the printer don't do that shiz?

I had a problem once, not Icr, where one wouldn't print in red, dip switches, ESC/POS and all that.
Maybe something like that perhaps

It's not set to red- fresh install of ICR. The KP is a cheaper equivalent. i was surprised it worked to be honest. It was serial over cat5 with an RJ45. I installed a posiflex which had 3 9way serial ports and com4 was RJ45 and it just worked when I plugged it in. I had told the customer it may not bbe wired right as the RJ45 to 25 way serial may not be correct but as it prints everything else I guessed it was ok.

Are you saying that you plugged a cat5 end into a com port on the till with a serial converter on the printer end?
You should get adapter cables with the the till, I'm surprised it works at all if that's the case,
I think com ports on tills like that are RJ50.
Does the printer have uniwell written on it?

cat5 till end to 25 way kitchen end. I was surprised and I'd prepared the customer for it to fail. I had a cat5 to 9way serial but it was rj45 on the cable. As they never mentioned the kp i was unprepared. I didn't notice the printer model but I've just asked the customer

If it's run straight cat5 through all the way from the till with the supplied adapter on the other end it should be fine I'd have thought.
I can't imagine that a Uniwell printer would work at all though.

I wouldn't have been surprised at all of it never worked. It's because it prints everything except the item that i thought it maybe something else.

I guess the first thing I'd try would be connecting the printer direct to the till with no networking in the way, just to be sure.

I think you've got the emulation mode wrong and the double size setting is confusing it.

It's not a cable issue

Does it make any difference if you set it not to double size? I would try turning off everything in kp configuration that could be considered by the printer to be not normal

I was going to suggest this as a way of seeing, but my phone was being stupid and I'm tired :P
